The Pace F4

The Pace F4- 3 metre sailplane is manufactured in Austria by Lesky composites who have a reputation for building the strongest airframes for extreme sports flying and dynamic soaring Prices start at £610
The PACE F4 was developed for slope soaring, and represents an entirely different concept, the very thin wing shape of the Pace F4 sticks out from the crowd and gives the machine not only a more elegance in the air , but above all the high aspect ratio improves thermal utilization, less takeoff weight and more agility.
The main objective was the highest aspect ratio in its class, the root depth is only 190mm, thus moving the F4 with even less resistance through the air.
With its specially developed Profile at 1.7%,can be used both for the slow pace F4 thermal flight as well as with ballast slope racer.
There are currently three versions to choose from:
PACE EF4 as an electric version, redesigned hull for the use of Lipo-from 3S, where the electric fuselage for the sailors variant compatible.
The hull is constructed from CFRP / FRP inlaid with carbon rovings very hard and has a slim vertical stabilizer, which is hinged on the horizontal tail clearance when moving elevator.
The wings and the tailplane are produced as a hard shell, this results in a very torsionally rigid and widerstandsfeste surface, which also times as many errors in the handling of pardons.
The PACE F4 is complete for RC installation, the remaining construction period to the first flight with great care around 6 to 9 hours, after which the pace F4 do what he's meant to conquer the hill.
The PACE F4L is the "lightest" version of the F4-League, is not easily equated with being weak. It offers a very high strength for a very brisk style of flight is sufficient, more strength means more weight, thus was spared the reasonable places with material. The dynamics in rapid changes of direction with maximum swings, rapid, accurate circling in the thermals is fantastic, the slender wings with its low weight makes itself clearly felt.
The PACE F4H is Normal variant and covers the spectrum between competitive racing and fast slope soaring with high-speed aerobatic. Four ballast chambers in the two wings, a carbon fiber joiner with support material and an even more generous sized Holm complete the offer of the F4H, reinforcements to the fuselage and wings are found again.
.
PACE F4E - The E stands for extreme, then the structure of the machine best described. Enhanced Carbon fabric load in the shell, massively increases the amount of the capping beam waling Carbonrovings, very hard with Carbon coated spar over the entire length, four extra-long ballast chambers in the wings , seeks full carbon and a connector body of his peers the F4E has the special touch.
Wing:
the wing is built without any additional supporting material such as balsa or Herex and thus offers even after long time, a flawless surface with no impressions or withdrawals.
The hinges are located on the underside of the wing, so no hooks into the landing and also offers better aerodynamics, hard seal lips are warranted.
the spar is coated made of very hard balsa vertical, the width due to the strain is different and over the entire length of carbon fiber.
The joiner case is fitted out with double-CSF Carbonrovings wrapped wet in wet, stuck in the wet wing, resulting from the adjustment of each connector is a suction intake, away through the wrapping with carbon over time.
The webs are constructed from balsa with carbon coating, wherein the top is bonded. In the event of a crash, the first adhesion triggers, so it absorbs the impact energy and leaves the rest of the wing usually without damage, after which the bond will be easily repaired.
In the wing there is a ballast tube steel ballast is available as an accessory.
- Wing span 3148mm, Wing Area 48.3dm ², stretching 20.5
- Profiles roots 205mm DLf4 1.75-8.4 to 1.71-7.4 wingtips 40mm
- Torsion stiff Carbon D6mm
- finished in Carbon with fiberglass top layer for high-gloss surface
- Capping beam waling graduated from CFRP rovings, standing balsa spar with carbon coating
- Completion of pier Balsa / CFRP coated
- Joiner pocket CSF with CFRP wrapping
- clean sealing lips made of epoxy
Fuselage:
built with a reasonable maximum number of carbon layers with a shiny layer of glass, there are the opening of the longitudinal and bending loads Carbonrovings increased over the entire circumference and over the entire length of the trunk, the hood is generously cut with a tissue and rovings. The fin has three Balsa ribs coated with carbon, one of them by the hinge of the rudder, the other two for the rudder, the transition tube fuselage-vertical stabilizer is additionally equipped with Carbonrovings and carbon fabric reinforced to about the tail.
The canopy is also made of carbon fiber, this guarantees a high dimensional stability at the canopy edge, thus reducing the gap effect (picture painted version can be ordered)
plywood board for the servo mounting.
The elevator is constructed using fix-finished carbon tube and rocker, each rocker is specifically adapted to the carbon tube recording and guarantees low utmost game.
The rudder is also hinged to fix-finished and installed using carbon tube.
