The Pace DS

The Pace DS 2 metre sailplane is manufactured in Austria by Lesky composites who have a reputation for building the strongest airframes for extreme sports flying and dynamic soaring. Prices start at £360
Pace DS is designed for slope flying and Dynamic Soaring. The airframe is made of carbon fiber / fiberglass and bearing qualities ideally suited for use in most conditions.The profile and shape with high aspect ratio wing is designed both for high-speed flight and easy thermaling on the slope.
The fuselage is made of CFRP / FRP inlaid with carbon rovings and has a slim vertical Fin with no rudder.The wings and the tailplane are produced as a hard shell, this results in a very torsionally rigid surface. There are 3 versions available:
The Pace DSL version is the lightest variant of this series. The advantages of DSL variants are obvious, to minimizing the mass of the model, for thermaling and aerobatics, at low speeds and still maintaining a high roll rate, especially when coupling the wing flaps. Weight saved is in almost every component, supplied with light joiners and additional fabric layers in the wings occur only in the inner part on the application.
The Pace DSH version Is the slope racer, with wider joiners, and addtional support material in the wing to maximise torsional strengh.These measures have little increase in the wing weight but with a significantly makes a stiffer and tougher machine, the speed loss is significantly reduced when flying tight corners, a definate slope racer!
The PACE DSE is the hardest of all DS versions, solid joiners and surface area was again increased, and in the fuselage with even more Carbon and Carbonrovings to make the DS turn more quick to bend-resistant. The joiners now completely built up from rovings that adds extra weight. The D-Box area has been strengthened over the entire span of the capping beam wall and again filled with rovings. This machine is the maximum possible at the PACE DS-concept.
